Recently, PPG completed the color renovation of Zhangjiagang Houchang Kindergarten through its global "New Paint for a New Start" campaign, an important part of PPG's "Colorful Communities" program.

More than 60 volunteers from Zhangjiagang Factory participated in this activity, and they repainted the exterior wall of the teaching building of Houchang Kindergarten.

Zhangjiagang Houcheng Kindergarten is located in the center of the residential area of Houcheng, a century-old town. In December 1998, it passed the acceptance of the Jiangsu Province Demonstration Experimental Kindergarten, and the government expanded it in 2001. Due to the relatively old age of the hardware facilities, the overall exterior paint of the school building has serious fading, external wall peeling, cracks and other phenomena. The "New Paint for a New Start" campaign aims to repair and repaint the exterior of school buildings, creating a colorful and beautiful teaching environment for more than 650 students and staff.

Through the New Paint for a New Start campaign, PPG employees around the world volunteered throughout July-August, renovating more than 25 schools and serving local students. Using PPG paint products and color expertise, each event is designed to create a playful teaching space for students to learn and grow.

Chen Yiru, Deputy Director of Government Affairs and Community Responsibility for PPG Asia Pacific, introduced, "From July to August 2022, PPG will launch the 'New Paint for a New Start' public welfare campaign around the world. In the past two months, thousands of PPG employee volunteers have renovated and renovated more than 25 schools around the world with their hands. When we return in September, we will have a new teaching environment. We will also continue to carry out 'Colorful Communities' activities in more cities and campuses, and continue to practice the purpose of 'protecting and beautifying the world'."

Most of the "New Paint for a New Start" renovation projects around the world feature globally consistent colors specially selected by PPG color experts to enhance the classroom environment. In Zhangjiagang Houchang Kindergarten, volunteers chose colors with red, yellow, blue, white and green as the main keynotes. Through innovative color matching and scientific color matching, they formed a refreshing visual effect.

Malesia Dunn, Executive Director of PPG Corporate Social Responsibility and the PPG Foundation, said: “Throughout July-August, we were actively renovating our facilities to create fresh starts for students and staff, and to motivate, support, and help students with Ready to learn. The Colorful Communities program initiated and advocated by PPG is designed to support, protect and beautify the communities in which PPG operates around the world. Through the Colorful Communities program, PPG employee volunteers invest their time and donate PPG paint products to transform communities, taking part in everything from painting classrooms, coloring maternity wards, and redesigning playgrounds. Since 2015, PPG has completed 386 "Colorful Communities" projects, reaching more than 7.4 million people in 42 countries.
