On September 6th, Akoma held a grand celebration for the 25th anniversary of Changshu Base and the 10th anniversary of Changshu R&D Center. As one of the largest industrial bases in the world and the largest R&D center in Asia, Changshu Base and Changshu R&D Center have always adhered to open innovation and deeply cultivated localized development since their establishment, contributing an important force to the group's business growth and cutting-edge technology development in China and Asia.

Deeply Cultivate Localization Development and Continuously Increase Investment in China

The Changshu Base is located in the Jiangsu Changshu New Materials Industrial Park, integrating production, research and development, and regional shared service centers, with a cumulative investment of 600 million euros. Since its establishment in 1998, the base has been actively investing in upgrading and encouraging talent development. At present, the Changshu base has nearly 1000 employees and has established an important position in multiple areas with high growth potential, such as lithium batteries, clean energy, more environmentally friendly coatings, building energy conservation, sports, and consumer electronics, further supporting the group's ambitious goal of providing regional supply to Asian customers.

In recent years, Changshu Base has served as the "bridgehead" for Akoma Group's development in China, collaborating with local industries in various aspects such as value creation, talent cultivation, and social responsibility. Last year, Akema (Changshu) Fluorine Chemical Co., Ltd. and Changshu Gaotai Additives Co., Ltd. from Changshu Base won the Suzhou "Annual Special Contribution Award" for their positive contributions to economic development.

In order to support the strong growth of the local market, the Changshu base is also continuously increasing production investment. At the beginning of this year, Changshu Base achieved a 50% increase in fluoropolymer PVDF production, providing high-performance sustainable solutions for local and Asian markets. In the second quarter of this year, the base also built a new polyamide 11 powder factory to help meet the booming demand for high-performance recycled bio based materials in the Asian market.

Adhering to open innovation and promoting sustainable development

Since its establishment in 2013, Changshu R&D Center has developed into Akoma's largest R&D center in Asia. With strong innovation momentum, adhering to the concept of relying on local demand, leading local development, and cross regional global collaboration, it has created a batch of innovative products and solutions that meet the expectations and needs of industry customers. This year, the R&D center laboratory also successfully obtained the CNAS laboratory accreditation certificate issued by the China National Accreditation Commission for Conformity Assessment, further confirming its professional capabilities.

With the gradual establishment and improvement of China's carbon peak and carbon neutrality "1+N" policy system, the development of clean energy such as lithium batteries, wind power, photovoltaic, and hydrogen energy is constantly accelerating, and innovative formats and technologies in this field are also emerging. Clean energy is also one of the key areas for innovative research and development at Changshu R&D Center. Akoma's highly representative Rilsan ® PA11, with its excellent physical properties and sustainable properties 100% sourced from renewable raw materials, has become an ideal material for hydrogen insulation layers; Luperox ® Organic peroxides, as niche additives in "critical tasks," can optimize the process flow of customers in various applications such as solar energy; Kynar ® As a key component of lithium batteries, fluoropolymers can enhance the energy density, high-temperature performance, and adhesion of batteries, and enhance the processing safety of battery manufacturing.

Twenty five years of brilliant peers and ten years of research and development have opened a new chapter. The numerous and fruitful achievements of Akoma reflect the glorious glory of China's economic takeoff, increasing productivity and creativity.
